The International Conference for Youth in Agriculture is over. Months of preparation with the IAAS committee in Bonn has led to four days of inspiring exchanges with over 70 nationalities, 55+ people in Bonn and 500+ online.
The International Conference of Youth in Agriculture had three founding pillars:
Science, where we brought together experts from The University of Bonnranging from topics such as digitalisation to food factories. But also, other parties involved in all facets of cropping systems from the European Commission, Bayer, KRONE Commercial Vehicle Group and CGIAR.

Exchanges with all these scientific partners led to a good ground for the many debates we had, led by the Food & Agriculture Youth Institute (FAYI). All these participatory processes have led to a strong call-to-action, which will form the base towards IAAS (International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences) and hopefully many others’ involvement towards COP.

This conference was a truly global one. Our collaboration with the FAO made it possible to link a competition and capacity building programme to the conference. This linkage made it possible to bring seven inspiring youth-led projects to Germany, coming from all corners of the globe, from Costa Rica to Nepal.

ICYA has enlightened, empowered and exchanged. It is the prelude of more youth involvement, and IAAS is ready to take a leading role in writing the next chapters.
